21 Awesome Food Experiences in America

Introduction

America’s food scene is full of rich history, amazing flavors and some truly iconic dishes. When it comes to the best places to eat in America, there are tons of options—and we’re going to narrow them down for you here. Whether you’re looking for deep-dish pizza or seafood straight off the boat, we’ve got everything you need right here!

21 Awesome Food Experiences in America

Chicago: The deep-dish pizza is a must.

There’s no doubt that Chicago is known for its deep-dish pizza. But there’s so much more to this city than just that! From hot dogs and Italian beef sandwiches to tacos and ice cream, there are plenty of things you should try while in town.

  • The deep-dish pizza at Lou Malnati’s or Gino’s East is a must. You can even get it delivered right to your hotel room if you’re too tired after walking around all day!
  • If you want something on the lighter side, check out any of the many restaurants serving up thin crust pizzas in town (there are so many options). Or try one of these places: Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria; Giordano’s Pizzeria; Uno Chicago Grill; Harry Caray’s Tavern

New York City: You can find almost anything in NYC, including some of the best food ever!

If you’re looking for an eclectic mix of cuisines, NYC is the place to be. You can find food from just about every corner of the world and there’s no shortage of amazing restaurants in Manhattan and beyond. But if you want to really experience what makes New York City so great, head out into one of its outer boroughs (Brooklyn or Queens).

The best restaurants are often located outside Manhattan because rents are cheaper there and they have more space to experiment with new dishes. The best part? Most places will let you taste before committing!

New Yorkers love their food trucks too–you’ll find them everywhere from street corners to parks during lunchtime hours on weekdays when people are out enjoying themselves after work instead of sitting at their desks all day long like me 🙁 My favorite thing about NYC though? Farmers markets! They’re everywhere too 🙂

San Francisco Bay Area: You’ll definitely need a map to navigate your way around the food scene here!

The San Francisco Bay Area is one of the most exciting places to eat in America. It’s a melting pot of international cuisine, and you can find almost anything here.

The best food ever is a subjective judgment, but if we had to pick just one thing that defines SF cuisine it would have to be its diversity. This is a city where people come from all over the world: Thailand, China and Japan are just some examples of what’s on offer at any given moment in this foodie paradise!

Los Angeles: This city is known for its international cuisine.

Los Angeles is a city known for its international cuisine. From the food trucks to the restaurants and everything in between, you can find just about any type of food here. Many people come here for this reason alone; it’s not uncommon for someone from out of town to ask me what kind of cuisine I recommend they try while visiting Los Angeles. There are so many options!

My favorite part about eating out in LA is being able to experience different cultures through their food–from Central American pupusas (a type of stuffed corn tortilla) at El Jardin del Taco Truck on Sunset Boulevard in Silver Lake, or Korean BBQ at Seoul Sausage Company in Koreatown–and then coming home again with a new appreciation for how much we have in common despite our differences as human beings globally speaking.

Washington State (Seattle/Vancouver): The seafood here is excellent.

Seattle and Vancouver are both great cities for seafood lovers. Seafood is popular in Washington State, and you can find it in many different forms here: salmon, crab and oysters are all favorites. If you’re not sure where to start or what kind of seafood you want to try out while visiting this area of America’s Pacific Northwest, there are plenty of options available! You could go to a seafood market like Pike Place Market or Fishermen’s Terminal where there are numerous stalls selling fresh fish–you might even be able to catch your own if the mood strikes you! Or maybe just go somewhere nice like Elliott’s Oyster House where they serve up delicious oysters with champagne mignonette sauce on top along with other tasty treats like shrimp cocktail & crab cakes made from scratch daily (they even have vegan options).

Portland, Maine and/or Portland, Oregon – The lobster roll is considered one of America’s finest foods.

The lobster roll is a popular food in both states, and considered one of America’s finest foods. The state shellfish of Maine is the lobster, which has been enjoyed by locals for centuries. The state shellfish of Oregon is also the lobster–and it’s no coincidence that these two states are known for their delicious seafood restaurants.

Lobster can be found on menus across both Portland, Maine and Portland, Oregon (and beyond), but if you want to try something truly local then go straight for the classic: served hot or cold with buttery mayo sauce on top and tucked into warm bread rolls with melted cheese inside!

New Orleans – Fried oysters, po’boys and beignets are all part of this city’s legendary culinary offering!

New Orleans is a city known for its rich culinary tradition. From gumbo to jambalaya, this city has a long history of food that dates back to 1699 when French settlers first arrived in Louisiana. Today you can find all sorts of delicious treats in New Orleans like beignets (doughnuts covered in powdered sugar) and fried oysters!

Memphis – Come here for BBQ and ribs at the best restaurants around town!

  • Memphis is known for its BBQ.
  • Memphis has some of the best BBQ in America.
  • Memphis is part of the Mississippi Delta region, which spans across three states: Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. The city of Memphis sits right on top of this area and takes its culinary inspiration from there as well as other parts of Tennessee (like Nashville) and Kentucky (Lexington).
  • Elvis Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi — just an hour away from Memphis — so you can expect to see plenty of references to him around town!

America has some awesome food options

America is known for its food, and there are many great options to be had in this country. From the East Coast to the West Coast, you’ll find some of America’s best eats in cities like New York City and San Francisco. But if you want an authentic taste of America’s culinary history–and something truly unique–you should make your way down south.

  • Southern cuisine is filled with local ingredients and inventive recipes that reflect the region’s history and culture. For example: collards (a type of cabbage) were brought over by African slaves during colonial times; cornbread was a staple dish among Native Americans before European settlers arrived on these shores; pecan pie has been a favorite dessert since pre-colonial days because it was used as currency during trading expeditions between tribes.*

So where should you go? We recommend starting with Charleston, South Carolina; Birmingham/Huntsville area (Alabama); New Orleans (Louisiana); Savannah/Hilton Head Island area (Georgia).

Conclusion

America has some of the best food in the world and this list just scratches the surface of what you can find across this great nation. Whether it’s a famous dish like New York City’s pizza or BBQ ribs from Memphis, there are plenty of delicious options for everyone who visits America. So if you’re looking for an adventure full of tasty treats? Come on over! We’ll be waiting with open arms (and stomachs).
